SUPPLEMENTARY POLL: PDP’S NWOKE DEFEATS UMAHI’S BROTHER TO WIN ABAKALIKI STATE CONSTITUENCY

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ebonyi State has declared Mr. Victor Nwoke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of Abakaliki North State Constituency Election.

Declaring the result in Abakaliki, the Collation Officer, Professor Smart Otu explained that Mr. Nwoke polled 5,988 (five thousand, nine hundred and eighty-eight) votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Maxwell Umahi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 5,664 (five thousand six hundred and sixty four) votes.

The declaration followed the final Collation of results after the conduct of supplementary slection in some polling units in the constituency.

Similarly, INEC has declared Chief Kingsley Ikoro of APC the winner of the House of Assembly election conducted in Afikpo North West State Constituency.

The Collation Officer, Professor Omaka Omaka explained that Chief Ikoro, who is the serving Deputy Speaker of the House, secured 5,012 (five thousand, and twelve) votes to defeat Mr. Oko Enyim of the PDP, who got 4,059 (four thousand,and fifty-nine) votes.

The winner was declared at Akpuoha Central School, which served as the Collation Center.
