2023 POLLS: IGP ASSURES POLITICAL PARTIES OF LEVEL PLAYING GROUND

Ahead of the 2023 general election, security agencies, including the military, have promised to provide a level playing ground for politicians across the country.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali-Baba, made this known when he visited Awka the Anambra State capital.

According to the IGP, there will be conducive environment for politicians to go about their campaign and also for those who want to exercise their franchise without any hindrance.

The IGP promised that additional policemen would be deployed to some states that are hotter than the others to enable them secure the environment.

Mr. Alkali-Baba charged the officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command to be committed to their job and remain loyal to the police leadership in the state.

The IGP promised that police authorities would continue to encourage the operatives, while working hard to improve their welfare, in terms of a better working environment and renumeration.

He said that his leadership had done its best in adding value to improve on what he met on ground upon assumption of office .

The IGP stated that members of the civilian Vigilante were also key in crime fighting and had done well in enabling the police to succeed.
