Ebonyi State Police Command has threatened to arrest the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ebonyi State, Comrade Ikechukwu Nwafor, over an allegation that the Command detained those behind the viral video where soldiers flogged some civil servants on the orders of Governor David Umahi in the state.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Chris Anyanwu, explained that at no time did the command detain Chief Romanus Nwasum and his driver, who were purported to have made the viral video, as alleged by the NLC leader in the state.

The Command challenged NLC Chairman to mention the cell facility or Police Division as well as outfit where the detention allegedly took place or face arrest and arraignment for false information.

The Statement further explained that the Command was committed to ensuring that it discharges its functions in a professional manner.

The NLC Chairman had in a statement, issued to journalists, accused Police in the State of detaining those
who made the viral video.
