POLICE BURSTS BABY FACTORY, RESCUES 35 GIRLS IN ANAMBRA

The Police Command in Anambra State has rescued 35 girls allegedly used for baby factory and sundry crimes in a hotel in the state.
Of the 35 girls, four were said to be pregnant as of the time of the rescue.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga made this known at a press briefin in Onitsha on Wednesday.
“Following a rigorous analysis of crime trends and pattern, the command’s operatives working on information bursted a hotel in Nkpor where they use children between the ages of 14 and 17years for sex slaves, prostitution and baby factory,” the PPRO stated.
The police spokesman advised parent and guardian to always create a deliberate relationship with their children and wards as it would help to guide and direct them in their activities.
He said such would also help to monitor them against unforeseen issues and bad company.
Mr. Ikenga said the police also arrested three persons: 35 year old Ifeoma Uzo; 28 year old Chidiebere Alaka, and Nweke Chidiebere.
He said his men recovered three pump action guns, seven cartridges and cash sum of N877,500 from the suspects.
The PPRO noted that the suspects arrested were being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement in crime and unmasking other gang members.
Mr. Ikenga said all the suspects would be arraigned in court at the end of investigations.
Radio Nigeria gathered that some of the suspects where later handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for the welfare and rehabilitation of the children.
