Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has approved the suspension of the state Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Orlando Nweze.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, explained that the Commissioner was suspended from failing to discharge his duties effectively.
The statement directed the Commissioner to handover all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
It’s not clear what aspect of Mr. Orlando Nweze’s duty that he did not carry out effectively that led to his suspension.
The Governor David Umahi administration has recorded suspension of many top government functionaries with some of them eventually recalled after some months.
