DON’T PAY MONIES TO TOUTS & ILLEGAL LEVY COLLECTORS — GOV SOLUDO WARNS BUSINESS OWNERS
REPORTER: ONYINYE CHIJIOBI
Governor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration will no longer tolerate touting in the state.
The Governor made this known when he paid a working visit to Main Market; and Fruit and Vegetables Market in Onitsha.
Governor Soludo explained that a channel would be created for task payers to pay in their taxes and levies directly into the coffers of the government.
The Governor reiterated that the state government would set up a special task force to look into the issue of tax collection and touting.
He urged marketers, shop owners and transporters to desist from giving illegal money to illegal tax collectors.
Governor SOLUDO maintained that his administration would train and empower those who are currently involved in touting.
The Governor also visited some schools where he promised to rehabilitate the buildings, equip their laboratories and libraries for better service delivery.
Some of the students interviewed, who mentioned lack of teachers, especially in major subjects, as part of their challenge, pleaded with the Governor to fulfill his contract with students.
