NDLEA ARRAIGNS 10 ILLICIT DRUG SUSPECTS IN FEDERAL HIGH COURT AWKA

10 persons suspected to be dealing in illicit drugs have been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra State.

The suspects who were alleged to be dealing in cocaine, heroin and cannabis sativa were arrested at various locations in the state within the month.

Four of the suspects, Echezona Anozodo, Chigozie Okeke, Paul Odo and Okwudili Chukwudim were accused of peddling in canabis sativa while Ngozi Dike, Orwell Bosah, Nnamdi Nwafor, Udekwe Onuorah and Arinze Umeh were accused of dealing in cocaine and heroin.

Meanwhile, Arinze Nwabueze who was earlier granted bail did not appear in court when the case came up for hearing.

Paul Odo and Okwudili Chukwudim pleaded guilty with reasons to the charge against them while the rest pleaded not guilty.

The case of those involved in cannabis sativa has been fixed for hearing on May 24, 2018 while those of cocaine and heroin have been fixed for June 26 and 27 this year.
