ABIA STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL DISSOLVED

Governor OkezieI kpeazu of Abia State has dissolved the State Executive Council. Those affected by the dissolution are Secretary to the State Government, Commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants. However, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commissioner for Finance and the Chief of Staff to the Governor are to remain in office.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Umuahia, Mr. Onyi Wamah directed the Secretary to the State Government to handover to the Head of Service while Commissioners would handover to Permanent Secretaries in their Ministries. According to the statement, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor and all aides of the Governor are directed to handover to the Permanent Secretary Government House.

The Statement gave those affected by the dissolution till Wednesday next week to complete the handover and thanked them for their contributions to the governance of the state.
