President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari has vowed to reward each player that participated in the 1st edition of FIFA U17 world cup in 1985, 31 years ago with a cash gift of 2 Million Naira. The baby eagles who were later renamed Golden Eaglets defeated Germany 2-0 in the finals of championship to become the first African country to win the FIFA U17 world cup in 1985. Buhari then a military head of state made sundry of promises ranging from scholarships, major shares in big companies and even landed properties. All these promises were fulfilled. The president now a democratic head of state has agreed to make up to the unfulfilled promises when he receives the glorious Eaglets on Thursday 21st of January at the Aso rock villa. Others that will be honoured are the Eaglets class of 2015 that won the FIFA U17 in November and the country’s Olympic team.
