IKAGWU COMMUNITY PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR VOICE FM, NSUKKA

ZD EZS (1)Ikagwu community, hosts of Voice fm 96.7 has pledged support and peaceful co-existence with the radio station. The community in the University town of Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria, provided the platform for the sitting of the radio station, which came as a huge relief to the people who have suffered lack of publicity for years.

During a visit to the station Tuesday, by the Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria South East zone, Mr Ken Ike Okere, a delegation from the community led by Pastor Omeje Moses Chukwumah, presented a litany of requests for the attention of the state government.

According to them, compensation was yet to be paid to the community for land acquired by the government, for the radio project, no access road and portable drinking water. They sought the intervention of the Zonal Director over the requests and pledged their continued support and peaceful coexistence with Voice fm.

Mr Ken Ike Okere promised to present the issues with the Enugu State government while the station would provide moderate support for electricity and water supply to the immediate community, to ease their problems.
