6 Nigerian Athletes Enjoy Olympic Scholarship
The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa have approved six Nigerian athletes for Olympic scholarships for
President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Habu Gumel said that eleven athletes were also on the list of the International Olympic Committee for another grant aimed at boosting the preparation of the athletes for the games.
The athletes include in athletics Okagbare, Oduduru, Regina George, Ese Brume, Christian Morton. For Wrestling; Odunayo Adekuruoye, in weightlifting are Adesanmi Oluwatoyin and Maryam Usman. Aruna Quadri and Effiong Edem are for table tennis while rowing has Jonathan Akinyemi.
Mru Gumel also said that 70 athletes have so far qualified for the forth coming Games.
