PRIORITIZE THE PEACE OF THE NATION ABOVE PERSONAL, PARTY AND ETHNIC INTERESTS –CHIEF CHIDOZIE EZEUGWA TELLS INEC, SECURITY AGENCIES, POLITICIANS

Two public affairs commentators in Awka, the Anambra State capital, have called on Nigerians to guard the nation’s democracy jealously by eschewing utterances and actions inimical to peaceful co-existence before, during and after this year’s general election.

The commentators, Chief Chidozie Ezeugwa and Chief John Olibie, also stressed the need for Nigerians to look for capacity to fix the economic challenges confronting the nation, in any candidate they would vote for especially, in the presidential race.

Chief Chidozie Ezeugwa, advised the key stakeholders, especially INEC, security agencies and politicians to prioritize the peace of the nation above personal, party and ethnic interests.

He urged religious leaders, traditional rulers and other leaders of thought to step in to ensure that the nation is not derailed.

Also,Chief Olibie, a former member of Anambra State House of Assembly, expressed dis-satisfaction with the economic hardship in the country and called on incoming government at the state and federal levels to be mindful of their policies and programmes.

Chief Olibie charged eligible Nigerians to be ready to cast their votes for candidates of their choice.

The public affairs commentators advised officials of Independent National Electoral Commission and ad-hoc staff to be engaged the Commission for this all-important national assignment to remain neutral so as not to plunge the nation into unnecessary electoral crisis.
