2019 ELECTIONS: ELDERS CHARGED TO GUARD AGAINST INCITING UTTERANCES

Some residents of the South East have called on elders statesmen in the country to avoid utterances that would endanger peaceful conduct of in the country.

They made the remark in a call during a Radio Nigeria Enugu Zonal Network Programme, political Watch.

The callers including Dr. Anarado, Odazie and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu, in their various contributions appealed to some elders to criticize the processes constructively and avoid any act that would jeopardize peaceful conduct of election.

A former Director National Orientation Agency Enugu State, Dr. Augustin Okoli, commended some elders-statesmen for speaking out loud against perceived dangers that might hamper peace in the conduct of the election.

He called on the various government institutions to be guided by rules and regulations in their operations as a measure of ensuring peace in the electoral process.

The caller surged security agencies and electorate to be guided by their rules of engagement in the 2019 general election.
