PASTOR EZE NWACHUKWU EMERGES APC EBONYI STATE CHAIRMAN

A clergyman, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu has been elected as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.

Pastor Nwachukwu and 32 other State Executive members were elected at the APC State Congress held at Nkwoagu Ugbala Event Centre in Abakaliki.

Apart from the positions of the State Chairman and Women Leader which were keenly contested through balloting, other positions were declared unopposed.

The position of the Chairman was contested between the winner, Pastor Nwachukwu, who polled 775 votes and Mr. Patrick Mgbebu, who got 7 votes while Princess Tonia Awam lost to Uguoze Marcilina Uburu for the position of women leader by 734 votes

Mr. Joseph Eruogu stepped down for Mr. Benjamin Nkpuma for the position of youth Leader.

The State Chairman of the Congress Committee, Chief Tony Odeh commended the 980 delegates who participated in the exercise for peaceful conduct.

INEC officials, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu and a former Governor of the state, Chief Martin Elechi monitored the Congress.
