INEC SET FOR JANUARY 13 ANAMBRA CENTRAL SENATORIAL RE-RUN

The Independent National Election (INEC) in Anambra State says it is ready for the conduct of Saturday January 13 Re-run election in Anambra Senatorial District.

Already, sensitive materials for the conduct of the poll have been distributed.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, told newsmen at the INEC headquarters that the distribution of the materials signaled the commencement of the election.

According to him, 7 local governments areas are involved in the election; namely, Idemili North, Idemili South, Awka North,  Awka South, Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha.

He said the materials would be distributed to Registration Area from where they would be deployed Saturday morning to polling units in the area.

Dr. Orji expressed the hope that the election would be hitch-free, as adequate security arrangements had been made by the security agencies in the state.
