FEDERAL LAWMAKER CONSTRUCTS CLASSROOM BLOCKS IN MMAKU COMMUNITY

A member of the House of Representatives, Chief Okechukwu, has encouraged corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to complement the efforts of government to providing conducive learning environment for Primary and Secondary Schools, especially at the rural areas.

Chief Okechukwu who is representing Aninri Awgu and Oji-River Federal Constituency stated this during the Inauguration of Classroom Blocks and Modern Sports Arena he built in partnership with a philanthropist, Chief Bob Andeh at Mmaku High School, Mmaku, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Chief Toby Okechukwu, who is the House Committee Chairman on Works, said the conditions of some Public Schools in the country were worrisome and needed the support of all and sundry to raise the standard of learning.

He commended the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his effort in repositioning schools in Enugu State and urged the management and students of the school to make good use of the facilities.

In a remark, the Co-sponsor of the Projects, Chief Bob Andeh, said he would continue to support education to ensure that students studied in a conducive atmosphere.

He explained that the Ultra Modern Sports Arena was in remembrance of his father, who was a lover of sports and urged the youth to utilise the facility to discover their talents.

In an interview, two indigenes of the area, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele and  Chief Obi Kama, commended  Chief Okechukwu and Chief Andeh for the gesture and advised the students of the school to reciprocate by being good ambassadors of the society.

The Principal, Mmaku High School Mmaku, Mr. Cyril Onyebueke thanked the donors for their show of love, noting that it would go a long way to spur the students to academic excellence.

The students of the schools and their parents could not hide their feelings as they roll out drums to demonstrate their appreciation.

The newly built two classroom blocks, which were equipped with chairs and modern teaching learning alongside the sports facilities, transformed the face of Mmaku High School, Mmaku to the amazement of students, members of Mmaku Community and visitors.
