IMT HOLDS 1ST MATRICULATION FOR ITS STUDENTS AFFILIATED FOR DEGREE PROGRAMME

Students of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, who are enrolled for degree programmes at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), are advised to be focused to actualise the dreams of excelling in their areas of studies.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor James Ogbonna, who represented the Vice Chancellor, gave the advice during the first Matriculation of Degree Students at the International Conference Centre, IMT Campus III, Enugu.

The matriculation took place following approval secured by IMT for affiliation to the University of Nigeria Nsukka for degree programmes in some courses.

Professor Ogbonna, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University, said the affiliation for degree programme was designed to meet the demands of increasing number of students interested in improving their academic status.

Professor Ogbonna advised the students to work hard to excel and commended the Management and Staff of IMT for the initiative as well as encouraged them to sustain the programme.

The Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, Professor Augustine Nweze expressed gratitude to God and thanked the Governor of Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for providing the enabling environment to secure affiliation with University of Nigeria Nsukka after 46 years of the institution’s existence.

The Chairman of the Ceremonials Committee, Dr. Ifeanyi Ojobo, emphasised that the two great institutions, IMT and UNN, had a long standing cordial relationship.

He thanked those who contributed to the success of the Matriculation.

Two of the Matriculating Students, Mr. Charles Chukwuemeka and Miss Cordelia Ani, thanked God for the opportunity and promised to work hard to excel.

Highlight of the ceremony was the taking of oath of loyalty by the students as administered by the Registrar of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Dr. Christopher Igbokwe.
