ELECTORATES IN ABIA STATE TOLD TO VISIT INEC CENTERS TO ENSURE THAT THEIR DATA WERE ACCURATELY REPRESENTED

The Resident Electoral Commissioner INEC Abia State, Dr. Joseph Iloh has reaffirmed the commission’s readiness to conduct free, fair and credible elections in the state.

Dr. Iloh made this known shortly after monitoring the display of preliminary voter’s registers in some INEC centers in the state.

He noted that the exercise which had commenced in the state was designed to enable the electorate who had registered in the just suspended nationwide continuous voters registration exercise to check and clarify on information about them in the INEC registers.

Dr. Iloh explained that through the exercise it would assist the commission to identify errors made on voter’s names; age as well as misrepresentation of voter’s pictures.

Any Person who objects to the appearance of a particular name or names in the voter registration will have the opportunity to object .If your name is misspelled or your data is misrepresented, your age, your address, everything about you is not correctly represented please this is an opportunity for you to go to the Local Government Area where you registered.

Dr. Iloh urged the electorate to avail themselves of the opportunity by visiting INEC centers in their local government areas to check for their names and pictures to ensure that their data were accurately represented.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner appealed to Politicians in the state to shun acts of violence and to always ensure that they play politics without bitterness.
