DEPUTY SPEAKER KICK AGAINST ELECTING OLD POLITICIANS

The Deputy Speaker Abia state House of Assembly, Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe, says the ” not too young to rule” bill before state and national assemblies would make a good meaning when passed into law, if youths in Nigeria realise the need for them to support their own into leadership, rather than canvassing support for the elderly in the country.
Dr. Ndukwe who stated this while interacting with newsmen on the state of the nation, in Aba, emphasised the need for youths in Nigeria to realise that if actually they wanted to assume leadership positions in the country they must be discouraged from clamouring for elderly people to assume elective positions like the presidency and other positions.
He objected to a situation where young people often carry placards for endorsement even when it was obvious that the elderly ones could not meet the yearnings of Nigerians.
The lawmaker further called on youths to ensure that they get enrolled in the ongoing voter registration exercise so as to enthrone the candidate of their choice.
The Deputy Speaker was of the opinion that politicians should always make their doors open for easy accessibility by the people adding that the main aim of being in politics was to serve the people.
