APC SOUTH-EAST STAKEHOLDERS CONDEMN UNDUE INTERFERENCE IN ITS AFFAIRS BY FORCES FROM OUTSIDE THE ZONE’ SETS UP RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE

The South-East Stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed commitment and resolve of President Muhamamadu Buhari to strengthen the Zone in the country’s new mainstream development.

These included developments and inclusive process through appointments and completion of various Federal Government projects located in different parts of the South-East Geo-political Zone.

The South-East stakeholders of the party in a communiqué at the end of its meeting in Enugu read by the Zonal Vice Chairman, Mr. Emma Eneukwu, condemned undue interference by forces from outside the Zone of the party.

The communiqué urged members to resist such attempts.

The meeting chaired by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu called on the national leadership of the party to revisit the subsisting zoning of principal offices in the 9th National Assembly to further strengthen the party in parts of the country where it was considered weak.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of labour, Senator Chris Ngige; a former Governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu; South-East Chairman of APC and Mrs. Nkiru Onyejiocha of the House of Representatives; implored both leaders and members in the Zone to redouble their efforts in the pursuit of constructive opposition.

Meanwhile a Reconciliation Committee to bring together all the aggrieved members of APC in the South East was instituted in the stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu.

The twelve-member committee, which is headed by a former Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, has Mr. Sunny Onyeukwu as Secretary.

The stakeholders’ meeting, which also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory for second term in office, commended the electorate  in the South-East for their support to the party during the just concluded election.
