ABIA LAWMAKER CONDEMNS SEALING OF SUN NEWSPAPER

 

The member representing Bende North Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Mr. Chijioke Chukwu, has described the sealing of Sun Newspaper Complex by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as very unfortunate.

The Lawmaker, who made this known while interacting with journalists in Umuahia, claiming that the anti-graft agency crossed its boundary by marking the news outfit for sealing.

Mr. Chukwu said he was not happy with the silence of stakeholders in Abia state and the South East region over matter, pointing out that time had come for the them to condemn the action as it was a monumental injustice to ndi-Igbo.

The Deputy Minority Leader called for regional integration, noting that people of Igbo extraction had to reconsider their stance in the nation’s political system.

The lawmaker described Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s incarceration as unfortunate, expressing the hope that he would be triumphant at the Appeal Court.
