NO SCARCITY OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS THIS YULETIDE — DPR

Residents and visitors to Abia State have been assured of steady and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products during and after the yuletide.

The Operations Controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Umuahia, Mr. Nestor Iheji, made this known while speaking with Radio Nigeria.

Mr. Iheji said they had drawn up a programme of surveillance to check petrol filling stations to ensure availability and proper dispensing of products to customers throughout the season.

The DPR Operations Controller emphasized that there was enough products to meet the needs of Nigerians while more imports were expected from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He advised people against unnecessary stockpiling of petroleum products to avoid fire outbreak and the attendant loss of valuable property.

Mr. Iheji noted that while marketers were sourcing products from places, including Port Harcourt, Warri, and Lagos, efforts were being intensified to fix the pipeline supplying Aba depot, which was vandalized.

He enjoined retailers to ensure that they operated within the stipulated guidelines for the benefit of Nigerians.
