YULETIDE: POLICE INTENSIFY SECURITY IN ANAMBRA STATE, OFFICERS ON RED ALERT

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. John Abang has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other striking units to intensify raids on black spots and criminal hideouts in the state.

They are also directed to sustain the ongoing stop and search and tactical operation duties as well as night patrols in order to deny miscreants the opportunity to operate within the state.

This was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Mr. Haruna Muhammed.

The statement indicates that the directives is part of security arrangements for Christmas and New year celebrations and to enhance secure environment for people in Anambra State.

The statement also directs the Department of Operations to embark on statewide visiting rounds to observe levels of compliance with the Commissioner’s directives and ascertain strategies put in placed by Area Commanders, DPOs and Unit heads in their jurisdictions.

The statement further notes that all officers in the command are also placed on red alert at their respective duty posts and asked to respond promptly to any situation or distress from members of the public.
