The new President Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr. Eze Anaba, says he will set up an editors trust fund to address the challenges facing some of their members.

Mr. Anaba stated this after an election that brought him as the new President of the Guild in Owerri.

He maintained that there would be a trust fund where individual editors could seek assistance in challenging court cases that affect press freedom.

Mr. Anaba noted that the Guild would annually organise lecture in honour of Alhaji Lateef Jakunde as the Man who started the Guild of Editors in 1961.

The president explained that due to modern technology in the world, the editors would start to embrace training to adapt with modern techniques and reduce the cost of production both in print and electronics.

He pointed out that the Guild is not a political party or opposition party but they would work assiduosly with the government to improve on the economy of the country.

Meanwhile, the Director News FRCN, Mrs. Husseina Bangshika, emerged Deputy President of the Guild.
