USE CHRISTMAS TO RENEW PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE— REV UZOMA

REPORTER: CHINAZO ILECHUKWU

Nigerians have been urged to use Christmas period to commit themselves to peaceful co-existence, unity and love for mankind as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

The President, Imo Baptist Conference, the Reverend Uzoma Uzoeshi, gave the admonition in a message to mark the birth of Christ in Owerri.

He said rather than perceive the season as merely for merry-making and reunion, Christians should reflect on their lives and ensure that they not only partake in the joy of the coming of the saviour but strive to inherit eternal life.

The Reverend Uzoeshi stressed the need for those who celebrate to remember the less privileged and others overwhelmed by the complexities of life.

He however urged the people to share in the joy, which the birth of Christ brought to mankind, irrespective of any situation they found themselves as Christ symbolized renewed strength and hope.
