REHABILITATE EKWULOBIA-OKO-UFUMA-UMUNZE ROAD — ASSEMBLY URGES SOLUDO

Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution calling on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Managing Director of the State Road Maintenance Agency to commence palliative work on the failed portion at Oko spot on the Ekwulobia -Oko-Ufuma-Umunze road.

The House passed the resolution after the member representing Orumba North constituency, Mr. Paul Obu had, in a motion of urgent public importance drawn the attention of his colleagues to the bad state of the road.

He said the road had constituted a nightmare to the road users, pointing out that a good road network was essential to the state with trade and commerce as its mainstay.

Contributing to the motion, the member representing Ogbaru 1 Constituency, Mr. Noble Igwe, explained that the failed portion had caused series of accidents on the road.

Mr. Igwe was also of the opinion that the risk and hardship the passengers plying the road underwent was unbearable.

Also, the member representing Njikoka II Constituency, Mr. Jude Akpua, said the failed portion would serve as an avenue for hoodlums to wreak havoc on innocent passengers on the road.

Mr. Akpua expressed belief that palliative work l on the road would ease transportation and reduce the rate of accidents on the road.
