PRIORITIZE EMPLOYMENT — METHODIST PRELATE ADVISES FG

The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Uche, wants the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on Employment in the country.

Dr. Uche made this known when he received the management of National Orientation Agency Abia State on an advocacy visit in Umuahia

The Prelate noted that when youths were gainfully employed it would reduce the rate of crime in the country and called on government all levels to do all they could to providing job opportunities for the teaming unemployed youths.

He urged government to place more emphasis on the agricultural sector by empowering local farmers with farming implements and grants in order to boost food sufficency in the country.

On the 2023 general election in the country, the Methodist Prelate enjoined Nigerians, especially the youths, not to allow greedy politicians to use them as agents of destruction as well as to shun vote buying during the election.

The State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Abia State, Dr. Ngozi Okechukwu, called on religious leaders to ensure that they pursue peace initiatives that would reject hate speech and promote religious harmony, love, peace and unity in the country.

She noted that NOA would continue to increase synergy amongst relevant stakeholders in dousing political, religious, economic and ethnic tensions.

The theme of the advocacy visit was “BUILDING A PEOPLE Of PEACE TOWARDS ENHANCING NATIONAL SECURITY.”
