POLICE IN ANAMBRA PARADE SUSPECTED CULTISTS, KIDNAPPERS & 3 SUSPECTS FOR STRIPPING AND FLOGGING A LADY

The police command in Anambra state has paraded three suspects who allegedly stripped and flogged a lady in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area and uploaded the video of the act on social media.

The command also paraded 113 (one hundred and thirteen( suspected cultists and two suspected kidnapers, who stole a six year old child allegedly for ritual purposes at Nteje community before luck ran out on them.

The State Commissioner of police, Mr Rabiu Ladodo, who paraded the suspects before journalists, said seven vehicles were also allegedly recovered from a car robbery syndicate operating within the state.

The three suspects who were allegedly involved in stripping and flogging a lady and uploading same to social media include the victim’s Facebook male friend, whose name was given as Ifeanyi Azotani and his wife Tochukwu as well as their friend Ogochukwu Nwankwo.

According to the commissioner of police, they were arrested after the victim, ogochukwu Okafor, reported the matter to the police, alleging that the two women locked her up in a toilet for hours and later flogged her before demanding for sixty thousand naira, which she declined.

Mr. Ladodo while describing the alleged action of the suspects as deprivation of liberty, assault and conspiracy against Ogochukwu, cautioned the public to be careful with the kind of friends they keep on social media and promised that the matter would be charged to court after thorough investigation.

He noted that the command also in continuation of its ongoing raids on black spots had between March 11 and till date arrested 113 one hundred and thirteen) suspected cultists out of which forty five were charged to court, thirty five screened out and thirty three still under investigation.

In an interview, one of the suspects, Ogochukwu Nwankwor, who confessed that she flogged the victim, said nobody was above temptation.

According to her, she was pained by the thought of her missing son hence she could not control herself while flogging Ogochukwu.

The wife of the male Facebook friend, Tochukwu, claimed that she read her husband’s chat with the victim and decided to wait for her on the day they both agreed to meet in their home.

The victim, 29 year old Ogochukwu Okafor, who hails from Osile Village in Ogidi, told journalists that all she wanted was justice as the act had ruined her image home and abroad.
