ELECTION TRIBUNAL IN ABIA STATE NOW HAS 10 PETITIONS BEFORE IT

Ten petitions emanating from the National Assembly elections are now before the 2019 Election Petitions Tribunal in Abia State.

The Secretary of the Tribunal, Mr. Dan Ogunyemi confirmed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Umuahia.

Mr. Ogunyemi explained that three of the petitions were on the Senatorial Polls while seven bothered on the House of Representatives positions.

He listed the Senatorial petitions to include the matter filed in by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa against INEC and others, that from Senator NkechiNwogu against Senator Theodore Orji and a petition from Mr. AnachaNdukwoAnacha against INEC and two others.
For the House of Representatives, the seven matters before the Tribunal include the one brought against Mr. UzomaAbonta by Mr. EzeNwokoli, that of Mr. NnamdiIro Oji against Mr. NkoleUkoNdukwe and a petition from Jude Udeachara against Mrs. NkeirukaOnyejeocha.

Others are the petition filed by Mr. AnyasoChimaobi against Mr. Benjamin Kalu,that from Mr. Humphrey Azubuike against Mr. Solomon Adaelu, petition from OkwaraIbeOsonwa against NkoleNdukwe and Apugo Martin against Chief Sam Onuigbo.
Our correspondent reports that as at the time of filing the report, no Governorship or House of Assembly Election Petition had been filed.
