POLICE ARREST THREE CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN ANAMBRA, RECOVER CASH, ARMS, MOTORCYCLE

Police operatives in Anambra State have arrested three suspected hoodlums in Awada, Idemili North Local Governmenr Area.

They also recovered one English Beretta Pistol, one locally fabricated gun, one live ammunition one motorcycle, three phones, #22,400 cash and some substance suspected to be hard drugs.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, indicated that police operatives working on a credible information stormed a criminal hideout in Awada, Idemili North Local Government Area and arrested one Onyedika Okwuibe.

According to the statement, immediate search conducted in the house of the 25 year old suspect led to the recovery of one English pistol and one live ammunition.

It noted that further interrogation of Onyedika led to the arrest of one Chimaobi Ezeoke, whom he alleged, gave him the gun.

They both confessed to be members of Vikings cult group.

The statement further said that police personnel working with the vigilance group in Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area arrested one 31 year old Samuel Nwankwo and recovered one locally fabricated gun, one motorcycle, substance suspected to be hard drugs and #22,400.00.

It said that the suspect and one other gang member still at large operating with unregistered motorcycle had attacked Heca Filling Station on Umunze/Ekwulobia Road and dispossessed the sales girl of cash proceeds.

However, the criminals were intercepted by Viligance men working with the Police.

The Suspect had been interrogated and operations were said to be ongoing to nab other members of the syndicate.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner Of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, while reiterating the unwavering commitment of the Command towards weeding out all criminal elements, enjoined law-abiding citizens of the state to remain vigilant and continue to support the Command in the fight against crime and all shades of criminality.
