PERSONS WITH DISABILITY SOLICIT SUPPORT TO PROVE THEIR ABILITY

A non-governmental organization known as The Initiative for the Eradication of Poverty Empowerment of the Disabled (IFEPED), have appealed to government at all levels to give opportunities to persons with disability to showcase the talent in them.

The President of the Organization, Mr. Victor Ugwu, made the appeal when he led the executive members of IFEPED on a courtesy visit to the management of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Enugu National Station.

Mr. Ugwu said that the aim of the visit was to seek the support and full participation of the Station in publicizing the activities of the group.

One of the members, Mr. Melone Benedict, noted that the organization had recorded positive results in its struggle for the empowerment of its members.

Responding, the Zonal Director FRCN Enugu National Station, represented by Deputy Director Internal Audit, Mr. Frank Okoli, commended the efforts of the organization in achieving its set goals and promised the Station’s maximum support to the group.

The organization’s motto is “Empowering People, Alleviating Poverty and Reducing Crime.”
