OVER 150 NSCDC OFFICERS RECEIVE TRAINING ON ARMS HANDLING

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Enugu State Command says it is combat-ready to tackle security challenges facing the State and the country in general.

The Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Steve Amoga stated this during the passing out parade of batch F 2018 trainees on arms handling at the Command’s headquarters Enugu.

The training which is done quarterly was the third in the series for 2018.

Mr Steve Amoga noted that the essence of the training was to equip the officers with the knowledge of professional handling of firearms in the face of security challenges.

He commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his financial support and the General Officer Commanding Eighty-two Division, Major-General Emmanuel Kabbuk for training the officers.

In a message, the Enugu State Governor represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters, retired Brigadier-General Fred Eze commended the trained officers for demonstrating professionalism in weapon handling.

Brigadier-General Eze described the training as apt given the security challenges in parts of the country.

Other sister security agencies including the Nigeria Army, the Police, Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and the Federal Road Safety Corps gave their goodwill messages on the occasion.

Over one hundred and fifty officers graduated from the training.

Highlight of the event was stripping and assembling of arms display by the trained officers.
