NIGERIA CORRECTIONAL SERVICE BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF SHOE & GARMENT INDUSTRY IN ABA

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to provide enabling environment for officers and men of the Nigeria Correctional Service in the state to excel in the discharge of their duties.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this in a message at the ground breaking of the Shoe and Garment industry at the Medium Security Custodial Center in Aba.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Mr. Ude Okochukwu, said that his administration would assist the Nigerian Correctional Center towards ensuring the success of the project in the state.

While describing Aba as the center for the small and medium scales enterprises in the country, Governor Ikpeazu commended the service for choosing to site the industry in Aba.

In a message to the occasion, the Acting Controller General, Nigeria Correctional Service, Mr. John Mrabure, noted that the service would continue to contribute it’s quota towards the human resources development strategies of the Federal Government.

The Acting Controller General, who was represented by the Assistant Controller General Zone E Owerri, Mr. Victor Chiabua, said the project was being undertaken by the Nigerian Correctional Service in conjunction with Public Private Partnership and enjoined officers in Aba Medium Security Custodial Center to redouble their efforts in ensuring safe use of government property in their care.

The Controller, Nigerian Correctional Service, Abia State Command, Mr. Julius Ezugwu, said the command had been very calm and peaceful as a result of high dedication and commitment to duty
by officers and men of the service in the state.
