POLICE ARREST ANAMBRA BASED PROPHET AKA ONYEZE JESUS

The police command in Anambra State has confirmed the arrest of one Onyebuchi Okocha popularly known as Onyeze Jesus on allegations of criminal and indecent conduct.

Onyeze Jesus who is the founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, was arrested after the complaints about some of his activities, including throwing naira notes into a river.

The police Spokesman, Mr. Muhammed, in a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria, said the suspect was arrested following a petition against him.

Mr. Muhammed said investigation was ongoing and that the suspect would be prosecuted if confirmed to be true.

Recall that on January 25, 2021, the Anambra State Government in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment expressed dismay with activities of the suspect, which the government described as criminal act in the name of religion.

Similarly, the State Ministry of Health on January 27, 2021 warned hospitals and mortuaries operating in the state to avoid giving access to Onyeze Jesus to carry out his widely publicized claims and plan to raise seven dead persons in the state.
