NEW ENUGU STATE HEALTH COMMISSIONER WARNS AGAINST ABSENTEEISM AND LATENESS, PROMISES TO REWARD HARDWORK

Enugu State Government says it is committed to reposition the health sector at all levels to ensure effective healthcare delivery.

The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Anthony Ugochukwu, stated this while interacting with the health workers in the Ministry during his first day in office after being sworn in.

Professor Ugochukwu while commending the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for putting machineries in place to safeguard lives in the state, encouraged the health workers to redouble their efforts to actualize the objectives of the Governor.

He warned against absenteeism and lateness to work noting that hard work and commitment to duty would be rewarded.

In a remark, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Ifeanyi Agujiobi and the Director of Pharmaceutical Service Department, Mr. Casmir Odoh, assured the new Commissioner of a good working relationship and pleaded with him to look into some environmental conditions of the Ministry, including bad condition of toilet facility and poor water supply.

Other members of staff of the Ministry, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwangwu and Mrs. Uzoamaka Ekoh, congratulated Professor Ugochukwu on his appointment and reminded him of the consolidated health salary scale which the Governor promised them.

Professor Anthony Ugochukwu until his appointment was the Provost Collage of Medicine, Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
