Chief Chukwu made the call during the swearing in of elected councilors in Aninri at the Council Headquarters, Ndeabor.
The ceremony also featured election of the principal officers of the Legislative Council which saw the emergence of Mr. Ositadimma Nwachukwu from Nenwe Ward Two as the Leader and Mr. Emmanuel Chukwu from Okpanku Ward as the Deputy Leader.
Mr Okechukwu Njokuoti from Oduma Ward Four was elected Majority Leader while Mrs. Luiser Achieze emerged the Chief Whip of the House.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman, Aninri Local Government, Chief Ezikel Chukwu urged the councilors to legislate on issues that would add value to people’s life and take rapid development to the people’s door steps as expected by the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Chief Chukwu however, called for unity of purpose among the people of the area noting that his administration would be an all inclusive one.
In separate speeches, the Special Adviser to the Enugu State Governor on Rural Development and Community Relations, Mr Uche Ogbonna challenged the lawmakers on selfless service and empowerment of the people through proper legislations.
The Leader of House, Mr. Ositadimma Nwachukwu and the Deputy Mr .Emmanuel Chukwu said they were committed to alleviating the plight of the people with meaningful legislation
Also, new members of the Isi-Uzo Legislative council have been inaugurated with a call to conduct themselves as worthy representative of their people.
A Chief Magistrate of the Enugu State Judiciary, Mr Linus Nwaebiem who performed the swear-in of the eleven councilors at Ikem, the headquarters of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, advised the lawmakers to carry out their assignment in line with constitutional provisions.
Similarly , the newly elected thirteen Council members of Enugu South Local Government Area have been sworn-in.
Performing the ceremony at Uwani, the Council Headquarters, the Chairman, Mr Sunday Ugwu charged them to discharge their duties diligently.
In Uzo Uwani Local Government Area,members of the Legislative arm have been charged to identify the ills in the area and enact appropriate laws that will take care of them.
The Council Chairman, Chief Fidelis Ani gave the charge while commissioning them to office at Umulopa.
Chief Ani promised to provide Democracy dividend to the people and appealed for co-operation among relevant stakeholders, to move the council forward.
The Leader of the Legislative Council, Chief Patrick Ezeugwu said the Lawmakers were ready to work in synergy with the executive to better the lot of the people.
