Media Coverage of Trial OF an Alleged Employment Scam Turned Down
The trial of the Principal Secretary to the Managing Director, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu, Mrs Stella Achara for an alleged employment scam has been adjourned till 21st December, 2018.
Mrs Stella Achara was accused of collecting more than fourteen million naira from many job seekers with a promise to provide them jobs, which she failed to accomplish. When the matter came up at an Enugu High Court, a prosecuting witness, Mr Henry Abonyi told the court that he sold his commercial bus to raise six hundred thousand naira for an employment slot in the hospital.
He claimed that Mrs Achara sent one Stella Egotanwa to him who provided an account number into which the money was paid. Radio Nigeria Correspondent who has been following the matter reports that the Defence Counsel requested the court to stop media coverage of the trial, which the Judge, Justice Ajah turned down.
