NPC Birth Certificates Internationally Recognized – UNICEF

As registration and issuance of birth certificate to children in Enugu State continues, the Chief of UNICEF, Enugu field office, Dr. Ibrahim Conteh says the certificates are recognized nationally and internationally under the universal birth registration coverage.

Doctor Conteh stated this when he led some stakeholders in birth registration on an advocacy visits to some faith based organizations in the State.

He said comprehensive birth registration in the State, made vaccinations and other health interventions, provision of social services as well as qualitative education easier.

The State Director, National Population Commission (NPC), Mrs Ngozi Onyia listed the Local Government areas in the State so far covered in the continuous birth registration exercise as  Aninri, Awgu, Enugu North, Udi, Ezeagu and Igbo Ekiti. Others, according to her are Udenu, Isiuzo, Nsukka, Igboeze North and Igboeze South with the Commission registering one hundred and fifty seven births in one of the centers, the Adoration ministries, Enugu, Nigeria.

She said all the Local Government Areas in the State would be captured in the exercise.
