IMT ENUGU JOINS NATIONWIDE STRIKE BY POLYTECHNIC LECTURERS

Academic activities remain paralyzed at the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT Enugu as the strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic enters its second day.

Our Correspondent who monitored the situation reports that students were seen in clusters discussing their fate regarding the strike.

Some Lecturers were also seen under a tree discussing the development.

A Cross section of the students appealed to both Lectures and Federal Government to go back to dialogue on how to resolve the situation.

Also in an interview with two Lecturers, Dr. Philemon Agu and his colleague who pleaded anonymity appealed to the Government to consider their demands, saying that industrial actions could jeopardize the future of the students.

The strike which commenced in the early hours of   yesterday was due to the demands by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics.
