Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has assented to the 2022 appropriation bill of #381.4 billion naira recently passed by the State House of Assembly.

At a brief ceremony at Government House Owerri, the Governor said that the budget christened “Budget of Wealth Consolidation and Recovery,” would help address the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

He explained that the document was prepared with inputs from town unions through their representatives to ensure that the needs of the people were captured.

Governor Uzodimma expressed the optimism that the budget, which had over seventy percent capital expenditure and more than twenty percent recurrent, would be actualized with improved internally generated revenue.

Meanwhile, the figures passed by the House of Assembly were exactly what was presented by the Governor for consideration.
