GOV UZODIMMA GIVES FINANCIAL AID TO FAMILIES OF SLAIN TRADITIONAL RULERS

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has given undisclosed financial support to the families of late traditional rulers, who lost their lives at a recent attack in Njaba Local Government Area.

He made the presentation at the New Exco Chambers Government House Owerri.

Governor Uzodimma described the late traditional rulers as brilliant rulers, who before their untimely date were discussing affairs of the state at the meeting last year (2021).

The Governor condemned the dastard act coming from unknown gunmen and bandits.

He also warned the politicians whom he alleged were sponsoring the killings and insecurity in Imo State.

Governor Uzodimma explained that the essence of calling the bereaved royal families was to sympathize with them and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding on behalf of the families, Elder Hyman Okoro thanked the Governor for his courage and urged him to be strong in piloting the affairs of the state.

The highpoint of the visit was presentation of cheques to the wives of slain traditional rulers and those sustained various injuries as a result of bandits’ attack.
