GOV. UGWUANYI UPGRADES 2 DISTRICT HOSPITALS TO GENERAL HOSPITALS

Two district hospitals in Enugu State have been upgraded to a general hospital.

The Hospitals are Pauley Clinic in Enugu North Local  Government Area and Udi district hospital in Udi Local Government Area.

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who inaugurated the multipurpose medical complexes at the areas, said that the drive was in keeping faith with the administration’s promise to provide secondary health services in the state.

He said the inauguration would change the narrative in the health care system.

The permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeanyi Akujiobi, who commended the State Governor for the edifices, appealed for the recruitment of adequate personnel to man the hospitals for efficient services.

The Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Mr. Emma Onoh, and his counterpart in Udi Local Government Area, Mr. Nestor Ochin, said the General Hospitals, which had been equipped with modern facilities to provide care, would curb migration to urban areas, especially those who often traveled to access health care.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the inauguration was among the first in the series of the upgraded medical complexes in the state.
