UGWUANYI INAUGURATES 8.8KM EHA-AMUFU-IKEM ROAD

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has inaugurated for 8.8 kilometres Eha- Amufu- Ikem Road, in Isiuzo Local Government Area.

Governor Ugwuanyi said that the project was part of his administration’s effort to improve the quality of life in the transportation of agricultural produce and stimulate rural commerce.

The Governor reminded the people of the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development.

The Isiuzo Local Government Council Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Edeoga, expressed delight that the road, which had been a death trap for thirty years, had finally witnessed a total revamp to boost economic growth through agriculture, a trait the people of the area are known for.

The permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Emmanuel Icheku, who said the project was properly done, however pointed out that there was still an uncompleted three hundred meters length approach to reinforced concrete bridge at the boundary with Ebonyi State to be constructed after the rains.

Two community members, Mr. Godwin Oguenyi and Mr. Benjamin Eze, said the project would improve the lives of the people economically.

They however appealed for the completion of the road from the College of Education, Eha- Amufu to Ikem Community.
