GOV OTTI EXPANDS SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INDUCTS NEW BENEFICIARIES

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says he is building a new community of intellectuals whose ideas and knowledge will shape the future.

Speaking at the 2022 -2023 Alex Otti Scholarship banquet in Umuahia, Governor explained that the board offers financial support to indigent Abia State students in higher institutions and non indigenes resident in the state.

He charged the 234 beneficiaries not just to study hard but to remain the best at the apex an reminded them that expectations were high.

The Governor, who noted that the scholarship scheme, which started many years ago but formalized seven years back, was modeled in such a way that beneficiaries did not need to know anyone to succeed.

While pledging continued support to the beneficiaries to enable them to achieve their full potential, Dr. Otti announced upward review of the Scholarship package from N150,000 to N250, 000.

According to the Governor, the initiative is a way of investing in the future and expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would make him proud.

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, one of the first class graduates, Mr. Kelvin Ikeoha, thanked Governor Alex Otti for giving them a future through the foundation and pledged to also give back to the society.

High point of the event was presentation of N250,000 cheque each to the 34 newly inducted beneficiaries.
