Passengers on board a United Nigeria Airline that took off from Chuba Okadigbo International Airport Onueke, Ebonyi State, have their God to thank as the aircraft skidded off the runway 18L at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos after landing.

The aircraft, 5N-BWW with 50 passengers on board, landed safely but was forced to terminate its movement to the apron off the runway.

In a statement, the Head, Corporate Communications, Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, explained that all the passengers disembarked safely and were transported to the arrival hall alongside their luggage.

Officials of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were at the scene of the incident, alongside United Nigeria Air Engineers, to move the aircraft to the hanger.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the National Safety Investigation Bureau, (NSIB) were also at the scene.

The spokesman for United Nigeria Airline said they were collaborating fully with the authorities and reassured the traveling public of strictest safety standards in its operations.
