APC WINS EBONYI NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT; IZZI-ABAKALIKI FED CONST; & EBONYI OHAUKWU FED CONST POLLS

A former Commissioner for Capital Territory Development in Ebonyi State, Mr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone election.

The Returning Officer, Professor Ajuka Obasi, had while announcing the result at Abakaliki Local Government INEC office declared that Mr. Nwebonyi polled 65,865 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Vincent Chukwu of the Labour Party (LP) who got 42,285 votes.

The sitting Senator and former Governor of the State, Dr. Sam Egwu of the PDP lost out after securing 26,569.

Similarly, INEC has declared Chief Emmanuel Uguru of the APC the winner of Izzi and Abakaliki Federal Constituency election in Ebonyi State.

Declaring the result in Abakaliki Local Government Area, the Returning Officer, Professor Amos Nworie, announced that Chief Uguru got 41,771 votes to defeat his closest rival Mr. Emmanuel Ezeh of Labour Party (LP), who got 30,977 votes.

However, Mr. Ezeh has rejected the outcome of the result claiming that it marred by irregularities.

Also, a former APC Chairman, Eze Nwachukwu Eze, has defeated his Labour Party and PDP opponents to win the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency seat.

He garnered 22,794 votes to beat his closest challenger, Chief Ndubuisi Agbo of Labour Party who polled 14,168 votes.

The candidate of the PDP, Mr. Victor Aleke, garnered 11, 611 votes to place third in the election.
