ANAMBRA EQUIPS TWO MORE COVID-19 TREATMENT CENTERS

Anambra State Government has inspected a new 120-bed isolation facility at the Umueri General Hospital.

The Government also inspected a protective care centre at Immaculate Heart Multi-Speciality Hospital Aguleri.

The two health facilities were recently equipped with ventilators, oxygen concentrators, among others to manage cases of COVID-19 in the state.

Inspecting the facilities, Governor Willie Obiano reiterated the determination of the state government to fight the infectious disease.

The 120-bed facility at Umueri General Hospital, according to Governor Obiano, was to ensure that the people of the state got top-notch treatment if infected by the virus.

The Governor announced that more doctors would be employed to help in combating the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the area.

He called on the people to adopt the globally accepted COVID-19 guidelines, including regular hand washing or use of alcohol based hand sanitizer and wearing of face masks.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, while outlining the progress made so far in the fight against the disease, said that health personal had been given adequate training to carry out their Statutory functions.

The traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, Who described the hospital as one of the oldest in the area, thanked the Governor for investing in the health sector.

He pledged to join the state and federal governments in the fight and campaign against Coronavirus.
