28 YEAR OLD STABS YOUNGER BROTHER TO DEATH IN AWKA

The police command in Anambra State has arrested one Victor Ohale aged 28 for allegedly stabbing to death his younger brother at their residence, number 8 Oraeri Street, GRA Agu-Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Haruna Mohammed, explains that the suspect, who hails from Emekuku in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, is a graduate of law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, who recently returned from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps.

According to the statement, Victor stabbed his 19 year old brother, Kelechi Ohale, at about 4am with a kitchen knife.

It says that the police detectives visited the scene and the victim was rushed to the Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.

The statement indicated that five knives used in perpetrating the crime were also recovered from the suspect.

It says that the case is under investigation after which the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the statement quoted some witnesses as describing the suspect as mentally derailed, a claim yet to be confirmed by experts.
