WE MUST REGULATE PRICES OF GOODS – EBONYI STATE GOVT.

Ebonyi State Government is to set up Price Regulatory Task Force to control the prices of food stuff and transport services following the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala stated this while briefing news men on the outcome of a meeting between the Governor, Council Chairmen and Coordinators of Development Centres at Government House Abakaliki.

Dr Ugbala described prices of food stuff in markets across the State as outrageous and emphasised that the Task force Team would be set up in collaboration with Council Chairmen and Coordinators of Development Centres.

According to the SSG, Governor David Umahi has directed that list of those to benefit from Government palliatives must cut across party lines while names of registered  commercial motorcyclists affected by the recent ban in the State should be forward  to the office of the Deputy Governor for palliatives.

He added that the State Government would reactivate its house to house campaign on preventive measures following cases of community infection of Coronavirus being reported in some States.
