COVID-19: 119 SUSPECTED CASES TEST NEGATIVE IN EBONYI LABORATORY

Ebonyi State Government says it has so far admitted one hundred and nineteen suspected cases of Coronavirus patients, who eventually tested negative and were treated for other ailments and discharged.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umezuruike, stated this while briefing journalists at Government House Abakaliki.

Dr. Umezuruike noted that random laboratory test for the virus had been expanded to cover those presenting cough and fever symptoms, pointing out that apart from residents of the state, fifty samples from other South East States were also tested at the state’s molecular laboratory.

The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr. Uchenna Orji, said the State Government was committed to ensuring that the virus did not spread into the state and would soon distribute palliatives sent by the Federal Government to the people of the state.

Meanwhile, Radio Nigeria gathered that the Ebonyi State Government also launched electricity powered tricycles to ease inter city transportation challenges following the ban on commercial motorcycles.
